Kristine Nelson
Coach Kristine Nelson is entering
her sixth year as head coach of Swim and Dive. She has been involved in
athletics her entire life. She was a three-sport athlete in high school
participating in swimming, track, and volleyball. As club swimmer for nine
years and a high school varsity swimmer for four years, she was a two-time
Wyoming state champion and one-time state record holder. In college, Kristine
swam at Northern Arizona University from 1986-1990 with strengths in 100 and
200 backstroke and 200 & 400 I.M. events.
Coach Kristine is grateful to have
taught in Chandler’s outstanding schools for 25 years. She recently retired
from full-time teaching in order to focus on coaching swimming and building
strong young people as athletes and leaders. Her 5-year vision was accomplished
last season as both girls and boys teams won the Division III State Swim &
Dive Championship. Kristine’s goal is to produce an exemplary swim and dive
program at Arizona College Prep that instills the love of the sport of swim and
dive, courage and discipline, and a family spirit in our Knight athletes.
